The walking tracks in particular are a great way to get around the park, with some lasting hours. You can join the free guided walks which operate Monday – Friday at 10:00 am.

Cairns Botanic Gardens is located in the heart of Cairns town at 64 Collins Avenue, so if you’re in town it’s only a short walk. Bus services also make runs that drop you off right outside. The gardens are also available for wedding and venue hire, of which you can make enquiries through the Visitor Information Centre on 07 4032 6650 or email gardens@cairns.qld.gov.au

There are a few tips that you should know that will make your visit that much more enjoyable, of which are the following…

1. Just remember to take some bug repellent as you may come across some mosquitoes on a damp or humid day.

2. Make sure you have water, the last thing you want is to get dehydrated.

3. Some walking tracks can be steep, so pick the ones best suited for you.

4. If you don’t mind the rain, the rainforest walks are spectacular with a bit of a downpour.
